just in case i wasn't clear when i played PSO2 before and complained about its horniness, my issues lied solely with the fact it was directed towards boring anime girls and not funny cartoon animal people. and whenever i played any other game and complained about it for whatever reason, its lack of horny cartoon animal people was the real underlying reason for it
anyway this is Atlyss a new supremely-early-access game from a single developer, which ordinarily i would've felt weird about playing on here but people be playing this one. i feel better about voicing my experiences along with any criticisms i have such as "the boob slider does not go comically far enough to the right", because i am simply among a sea of others clamoring for the same thing. thank god zephie dot net has been offline for the past few months no one needs to see any of this

that's Zephie kind of!! could get surprisingly close, here's hoping i can find a +2 dexterity beanie and hoodie in this fantasy world. i am a Byrdle my favorite bird species guessing game. for posterity here's what my posterior would look like if i weren't a coward

want to mention that my expectations were not super high for this. its admittedly pretty bad title screen/music combo then character creator where my guy is making uwhaa you are mess with a my butted jiggle animations gave me an impression of what this was going to be. like yeah i get it i get who's playing this and why because i am them. i was just happy for a new horny low-poly furry game that doesn't glorify hunting real world animals

ok. i realized i recognized this character; this artist who made this game. From pornagrolphy that i have seen on my computer since days immemorial. good for them

pretty early on my tone changed, probably in part thanks to my cowardice-ridden decision to deny my character of any copious jiggle, leaving this to be just a fun and pretty little action mmo-lite. and it is ultimately the most basic mmo blueprint so far, but you slap this artstyle on it and grant me the ability to play as a close approximation of my animalself and that fixes all my problems with the genre

here's a dungeon boss who made short work of me. combat abilities feel nice and good.. there's light platforming involved in dungeons which kind of completely rounds off this game's vibes in my book. i haven't checked my steam wishlist in a while but i think there's a lot of low-poly PS1/N64-inspired platformers on there. there's a graphics setting for whether i want the textures to look more PS1 (crunchy, good) or N64 (blurry, ugly) which i appreciate. there are also various coward settings for other things
i started off the game hosting my own server for the hell of it, there's a player limit of 16 so there are no big central lobbies or anything thank god as i type this i realize how thankful i am that this game is also playable offline. one person joined me in my time playing who quietly logged on without me noticing, until i saw someone jumping around while i was buying gear and realized it wasn't an NPC
i'm wary of taking myself online in games like this where it's super easy to mess with my character files and have others mess up the experience for me. there's a pvp zone for instance. which i found myself stuck in until i found my hearthstone and deleted my bluesky post half-jokingly pleading for someone to log on and kill me so i could leave. but yeah i just remember playing Borderlands as a kid and some guy joined my game, dropped me a megahacked-one-shots-everything weapon then left, for about 10 minutes after which i was ecstatic about how power i now was until i got bored and deleted my save
combat looks like this by the way. zephiehead know i love my bowenarrows but my big rocks rising from the ground are a close second. i've died a few times, mostly because i am bad at dodging and blocking but also because of one thing i've sorely missed in games like these which is unwittingly wandering into areas for which i am sorely underleveled. and i'm being serious, i love having the stakes of my overly adventurous nature pounded into me. if i was in one of those "I Died and Went to RPG Heaven!?!" anime shows i would die minute three

i reached level 10 and Ascended into a Bandit and now there's lots of new fun and cool things for me to do during killing times!! game really drills it in that the ascension is PERMANENT so i should be TOTALLY SURE of my decision, but as mentioned the json file that determines my class as "Bandit" is extremely sitting right there. i think i'm already close to being done with all the content currently in the game after ~3 hours, at which point i probably will start messing with a copy of my bird in such a devious manner
