sometimes i'll think back on my diary and wonder why i spent so much time on hunts. then i'll get back into the game and start hunting again. it's the perfect setup though because i've mostly just kinda kept the game open in the background to be notified when rare hunts spawn while i'm working, so it scratches that disgusting unemployed gamer diseased itch in my brain without me having to consciously choose when to scratch it

it's also a great opportunity to earn the titles for resing strangers who don't know how the attacks work, or it would be if i knew how the attacks worked

i get an absurd amount of tomestones doing this though so i needed something to dump them into that was straightforward, and i learned that would be the Endwalker relics, the ones that require completing the entire Hildibrand questline, which. look i. i just needed to get through the quests real quick so i skipped all the dialogue and cutscenes

no, listen, i know i felt dirty doing it but i'm a devout story enjoyer look i have the giant lore tomes and i can just go through them all later on new game+, which is the same thing i said over a year and a half ago after going through the first batch of quests and not enjoying them. maybe they get better though, maybe they're the funniest thing in the world i don't know. don't tell me i don't like fun, i love fun, look i reached 10 thousand achievement points doing this would someone do this if they weren't having fun and were just depressed

in other news. i got the same plot that i wanted before. just in time for me to decide i can't afford a subscription anymore, plus i only have a few days left so i need to start doing something worth talking about to make use of it. god i love having fun with the games i play

i am still deep in the retroactively-aforementioned mental unhealth pit and what do i play during times like these, that's right baby exclusively forevergames. because of changes i wanted to make to the website i actually decided from now on i was only going to write about normal person games that can be finished, i've been playing a lot of RuneScape, Guild Wars 2, MapleStory, etc. and you will NEVER know what i've been up to in them. but after resubbing to FFXIV a few days ago i've decided well it's something to do for now so here i am. hello

house update: lost the house. but i logged back in during a free login campaign to reclaim 80% of what i paid so it's fine-ish. i think i've learned my lesson, even though i'm back to really wanting a house i know i'll fall off the game again soon enough and the upkeep will just become a burden. but we'll see, i've been making lots more mistakes in life lately so there's always room for mistake number 189

what do you mean over a year and a half since Dawntrail dude that's so much time to forget what's going on. i'm still always keeping tabs on game updates even when i'm not playing, and whenever i saw key art for story patches that included Sphene it made me a little more okay with not playing a while longer. not only is she back but she's back twice, but it's not as bad as i thought. should i not bother avoiding spoilers again now that i'm back to publishing these where people won't see them

another mistake: attempting to forget about the world in which i live by escaping to a world that is also currently dealing with megalomaniacal techbros. they're putting memories in the cloud man why did i choose this of all games. yet another mistake: thinking "hmm i wonder what people online are saying about these story patches" after they involved an arc about treating other species fairly. to be fair the game itself historically has done a terrible job with that too so i don't know what i expected. chosen savior of the realm but every other sidequest is about helping slave owners and/or recreational homicide

solution: screw dis gay ass world i'm goin to different one. Cosmic Exploration was put into the same category of activities as Island Sanctuary so that had me thinking oh maybe it'll be like that but less boring. it's actually more boring. if you know how crafting or gathering works in this game, imagine that but now you're on the moon or whatever. also it's a community progress thing like Ishgard Restoration so you're already too late to see most of it. but there are funny space rabbit hijinx so it's not all bad

hold on i need to find what i said on here about variant dungeons 19 months ago to make sure i don't repeat myself. hmm ok. i completed the first variant dungeon. i enjoyed it and am looking forward to doing the others. end of entry
